Car and Van insurance with an LC20
What is an LC20 motor conviction?
An LC20 means ‘driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence’. It carries 3 to 6 penalty points and stays on your licence for four years. Until the conviction is spend, the LC20 must be disclosed to your insurer. If the driver has existing penalty points, and the endorsement takes them over 12, then this will lead to a ban under the totting up procedure.
An LC20 falls under the Licence Offences which includes LC30, LC40 and LC50. All these convictions carry the same amount of points and remain on the licence for the same period of time.
Finding cheap LC20 car and van insurance
Getting hold of affordable convicted car and van insurance with an LC20 is never easy. Insurers are quick to penalise drivers with convictions by charging 3 or 4 times the normal cost, or in some cases not even quoting at all. A lot of the conventional routes for insurance, comparison sites and high street brokers, are not really interested in convicted drivers, their may concern are what they perceive to be ‘low risk’ drivers who are unlikely to claim.
Here at convictedcarinsurance.co.uk we take a different approach. We believe all drivers should not be tarnished with the same brush but should be seen as individuals who can learn from their mistakes and become reformed. That’s why you’ll find our LC20 insurance rates some of the best around and much cheaper than you’ve obtained elsewhere.
