Car and Van Insurance with a CU80
What is a CU80?
A CU80 means ‘ breach of requirements as to control of the vehicle, mobile telephone etc’. It carries 3 penalty points and stays on your licence for 4 years. A CU80 is part of the ‘construction and use offences’ and also includes CU10, CU20, CU30, CU40 and CU50.
A CU80 needs to be declared to your insurer for up to four years due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. If you fail to tell your insurer then it runs the risk of your insurance being cancelled when the insurer finds out. If you’ve had a claim, they may also reject it due to not knowing about a CU80.
Finding cheap CU80 car insurance
Many insurers these days won’t quote if you have a CU80. Insurers see driving whilst using a mobile phone a dangerous practice, since the driver doesn’t have their eyes on the road and are more likely to claim. Although just because a driver has done this in the past doesn’t mean they’ll do it again, people can learn from their mistakes.
Here at Convicted we keep an open mind and will do all we can to find you low priced CU80 car, van or bike insurance. We have leading rates with a range of specialists ensuring you’re price is ultra competitive. We’ll also do all the hard work for you – give us a call for free on the above number or drop us your details and we’ll get in touch.
