What is a CD30 conviction?

A CD30 motor conviction means ‘driving without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration for other road users’. It carries 3 to 9 penalty points and stays on your licence for four years. After this time it is ‘spent’ and doesn’t need declaring to your insurance broker. It falls under the Careless Driving category of offences, which also includes CD10 and CD20 which also carry 3 to 9 penalty points. CD40 through to CD70 are often considered slightly more serious and carry 3 to 11 points.
